Doom 3 Performance
Doom 3's engine typically favors NVIDIA hardware, and this round of tests falls in line with the rest. Again the 6800 GS performed the same as the 6800 GT, and again both of those cards led the pack in our tests.

Also, like someone else mentioned, the lowest price I've seen for a 6800GT is $280.bob661 - Monday, November 7, 2005 - link

Why would you buy an X1600XT over a X800GTO anyway? GTO is much faster.DerekWilson - Monday, November 7, 2005 - link

But, IMHO the X800GTO^2 are the better deal for the modder, as they have x850 cores in them.gordon151 - Monday, November 7, 2005 - link
connect3D x800GTO's are the same as the sapphire x800GTO2's, being that they're moddable to x850xt's as well. They retail for about $180 too.puffpio - Monday, November 7, 2005 - link
Are there any GTO/GTO2 softmoddable cards for PCI?What's the best PCI card out there right now?

This bascially introduced 6800 GT performance at a lower price point, these cards perform very similarily and that isn't surprising. Long live competition.swatX - Monday, November 7, 2005 - link
