nVidia 7600GT
nVidia also announced lower priced updates in the 7xxx series. The 7600GT main-stream/performance family will be announced with the 7900GTX and GT. In a few weeks the 7300GT value family will be added. Every nVidia partner we spoke with will be showing one of these cards - even those who do not market the top-of-the-line 7900GTX.Two very interesting tidbits: The 7600 is pin compatible with the older 6600GT, which makes a video card refresh an easy task for manufacturers. In addition it appears the 7600 and 7300 use the same GPU on the video cards, but they run the cards at different clocks. Depending on other factors this could be good news for overclockers who get lots of joy in pushing value parts to new performance limits.
The entire 7xxx lineup looks very interested after the shrinks and reworks.
Two of the more interesting mainstream battles shaping up are between the 7600GT and the newly announced X1800GTO at the $230-250 price point and the 7300GT/GS and the ATI X1300/X1600XT/PRO at the $100-$175 price point. The new price reductions from ATI and the introduction of the X1800GTO make these some very interesting graphics card battles.

I think the cooling solution on the Aopen board is pretty good, silence and passive cooling is the way forward IMO. I think these days motherboard manufacturers focus a lot more on their cooling designs, which is a good thing because loud chipset fans suck hard.vailr - Thursday, March 9, 2006 - link
Re: "no where to be found"According to the Microsoft Encarta Dictionary (print edition), "nowhere" is a single word. "no where" is incorrect usage.

Sometimes our posting engine has a mind of its own. The article was posting while it was being entered in the engine - even though Post Status was NO.Everything should be up and working now.
We talk in general terms about the 7900GTX/GT launch in this article, and we also cover the AOpen 975X DualCore board and Broadwater. You should see the full 7900GTX launch article just posted for a complete review of the nVidia 7900GTX.
